Sultan Azlan Shah Cup: Pakistan team announced

Sohail to captain the Pakistan team in Sultan Azlan Shah
Pakistan Hockey Federation has announced 18 member squad for upcoming Sultan Azlan Shah Cup. The chief selector of PHF named world's top goal scorer and penalty corner expert Sohail Abbas as the captain of the team, and Waqas Sharif will the icecaptain of the team in Sultan Azlan Shah starting May 24.


There was no place in the team for 8 Pakistan players who participated in World Series Hockey. PHF had formed a discipline committee for these 8 players and asked them to explain their reason of participating in WSH.

Pakistan will surely miss top players like Rehan Butt, Imran Warsi and others who participate in World Series Hockey.

This year, the tournament will be played of blue and pink turf and act as preparation tournament for teams in  playing in Olympics

Sohail Abbas (captain), Waqas Sharif (VC), Imran Shah, Rashid Mehmood, Fareed Ahmed, Muhammad Tauseeq, Imran Bhutt, Khalid Bhatti, Kashif Shah, Muhammad Rizwan Senior, Muhammad Rizwan Junior, Kashif Bhutt Shafqat Rasool, Umer Bhatta, Ali Shan, Muhammad Zubair, Abdul Haseem, Shabir Ahmed, Muhammad Irfan.
