Schedule of Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2011

The schedule of this years edition of Sultan Azlan Shah Cup has been released. The tournament will start from 5th May and will end on 15th May. The opening match of the tournament will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand. Seven teams participating in this year’s events are Australia, England, India, New Zealand,  Pakistan, South Korea and hosts Malaysia. Following is the schedule of Sultan Azlan Shah 2011
May 5:Pakistan vs New Zealand, South Korea vs India, England vs Malaysia

May 6: Pakistan vs South Korea, England vs India, Australia vs Malaysia
May 8: Australia vs India, England vs Pakistan, South Korea vs New Zealand.
May 9: Australia vs Pakistan, England vs New Zealand, India vs Malaysia
May 11: New Zealand vs Malaysia, Australia vs South Korea, Pakistan vs India
May 12: Australia vs England, New Zealand vs India, South Korea vs Malaysia.
May 14: England vs South Korea, Pakistan vs Malaysia, Australia vs New Zealand.
May 15: Final
It is going to be tough for the defending Champions India as this year the competition is going to be more even then earlier. Australia, England, South Korea, Pakistan and New Zealand are above India in the FIH rankings. But it will be a great practice for the Indian team who has to play Champions Trophy later this year and the Olympic Qualifiers in the early next year.
Till now there is no news of the broadcasters of the tournament in India, and it can be assumed that like last year, this year also there is going to be no broadcaster and the only way for the fans is through text commentary.
You can watch the game live by going to www.p2pstation.net and also join me and Sportskeeda team on live text commentary and discussion on the game. Click here to join me and other hockey fans for text commentary and discussion of India-Pakistan game

  2. I don't think that any news channel will broadcast the tournament in India. There was no broadcaster last year. I am trying to find someone who can provide me with the link which would help people to view the games live, but I have not succeeded in that. The official website of Sultan Azlan Shah gives text commentary of the tournament and stic2hockey will also be doing live text commentary.

i felt very bad when i heard that there is no broadcast for matches of national game of india. but in cricket small small matches are broadcasted. all this is because of crase of people in cricket, they should know that having crase in this game will not bring medal for india.
in my views hockey is our national game and will remain our national game weather people prefer it or not. but a time will come when people will understand that hockey can only be our national game. all brodcasters u have to broadcast matches of hockey. u should help aal of us and india team to lift indian hockey to heights.

  5. Me and few other people mailed every sports channel, DD and Broadcasting ministry and requested them to show the games live on TV, but there has been no response from them till now, as usual hockey fans will have to rely on text commentary to find out about the game

  9. it is so stupid. there are so many sports channels in india showing god knows what all sports. they will advertise those sports to the hilt - EPL/ spansih league/NBA etc. but when it comes to indian national sports, they all fall silent. it is necessary to understand that until there is is adequate media coverage of the sports, they will not prosper.
