Indian women team has won bronze medal in the inaugural Asian Women's Champions Trophy. The women team won the medal after defeating China who is a superior team as considered to Indian team.
Indian captain Surinder Kaur is carried her great form in the match when she scored the winner in the 63rd minute of the match.
Chinese team drew the first blood when they scored a goal in 16th minute of the game. Saba Anjum levelled the score in 24th minute of the match while Surinder Kaur scored in 63rd minute.
After the dismal start to the tournament, India winning bronze is quite a surprise for everyone. The team lost all the group matches to Japan, China and host South Korea.
But winning the bronze medal will work as wonders for the 13th rank team, who has been into many controversies recently.
The final game for India saw good team-work from the forward-line of the team, while the defense also performed well in the match.
Indian team will next play World Cup to be held in Argentina from 30th August followed by Commonwealth games in October.
