India beat France 4-3

India beat France in the first hockey test match played in Paris. Two goals from Sandeep Singh and one each from Tushar Khandekar and Rajpal singh gave Indian team a 4-3 victory over French team.
This victory was far from convincing. Rajpal Singh managed to score goal in the last minute which gave Indians a victory against 17th ranked team.
Tushar Khandekar started the proceedings for India as early in 5th minute when he scored the goal for the team. But France equalized next minute with a goal from Fredric Soyez.
Sandeep Singh who is in great form scored two goals for the team in 12th minute and 65th minute of the match. Fredric Soyez scored hat-trick in the match with goals coming in 6th, 51st and 68th minute.
In the end it was captain Rajpal Singh who scored a winner for the team when he scored a goal in 69th minute to give India a victory.
The match was evenly contested and India did face few problems in the match. The defense was not functioning properly.
With the nation hoping for a medal in upcoming Asian games and CWG. It is very difficult to win a medal. Indian team needs a strong defense, Sandeep Singh though an important part of the team is unable to provide much wanted help to the team defensively. The team will have to find a solution to this problem if they want to win a medal in the oncoming games. Till then, let the team enjoy its win, though last minute, its their hard work
